Manchmal braucht es nur einen besonderen Augenblick, um die Welt für einen Moment anders zu sehen.

Ich bin Birgit und die Fotografie ist für mich eine besondere Art, genau diese Augenblicke festzuhalten.

Ich liebe die Natur, das Licht und die leisen Veränderungen, die sich oft ganz unbemerkt vor unseren Augen abspielen. Ein Sonnenstrahl, der eine Landschaft verändert. Das Meer in einem bestimmten Moment. Ein Himmel, der plötzlich seine Farbe wechselt. Oder ein kleiner Ausschnitt, den man im Vorübergehen übersehen würde.

Ich nehme mir Zeit, hinzusehen. Verschiedene Perspektiven auszuprobieren und den Moment auf mich wirken zu lassen. Denn manchmal ensteht das besondere Bild genau dann, wenn man nicht einfach nur hinsieht, sondern wirklich beobachtet.

Meine Fotografien sollen nicht nur etwas abbilden. Sie sollen Stimmungen vermitteln, Erinnerungen wecken und Raum für eigene Gefühle lassen. Vielleicht entdeckst du in meinen Bildern etwas, das dich berührt - etwas, das dich für einen Moment innehalten lässt.

Mein fotografischer Weg

Meine fotografische Reise begann mit der analogen Fotografie. Filme selbst entwickeln. Abzüge in der eigenen kleinen Dunkelkammer herstellen und mir vieles selbst beibringen - diese Erfahrungen haben meinen Blick auf die Fotografie nachhaltig geprägt.

Über mehrere Jahre war ich Mitglied im Lauterbacher Fotoclub und beteiligte mich auch an Projekten und Gemeinschaftsausstellungen der Schwarz/Weiss - Arbeitsgemeinschaft Süd, darunter "Entdeckungen der Schattensucher" in Landau (2013). Auch am fotografischen Projekt "Stille Post der Bilder" war ich beteiligt. Darüber hinaus wurden Fotografien von mir in verschiedenen Projekten und Publikationen veröffentlicht.

Im Laufe der Jahre folgten Auszeichnungen bei nationalen und internationalen Fotowettbewerben. Dazu gehören der 1. Platz beim CEWE - Fotowettbewerb "Urlaubsgefühle 2023" sowie Honorable Mentions bei den Fine Art Photography Awards 2023/2024 und den Mono Visions Photography Awards 2024 für meine experimentelle Serie "A Look into the Past"

Heute liegt mein fotografischer Schwerpunkt auf Natur, Licht und den stillen Momenten dazwischen. Meine Arbeiten werden neben meiner eigenen Webseite auch auf internationalen Plattformen präsentiert und sind inzwischen bei verschiedenen Ausstellungen vertreten.

Die Reise geht weiter - denn die Kamera bleibt schließlich auch nicht still.

Sometimes all it takes is a special moment to see the world differently, if only for a moment.

My name is Birgit, and for me, photography is a special way of capturing precisely these moments.

I love nature, light and the subtle changes that often unfold right before our eyes without us even noticing. A ray of sunshine that transforms a landscape. The sea at a particular moment. A sky that suddenly changes colour. Or a small detail you’d overlook as you walk past.

I take the time to look closely. To try out different perspectives and let the moment sink in. Because sometimes that special image emerges precisely when you don’t just glance at something, but really observe it.

My photographs are not just meant to depict something. They are meant to convey moods, evoke memories and leave room for your own feelings. Perhaps you’ll discover something in my pictures that moves you – something that makes you pause for a moment.

My journey in photography

My journey in photography began with analogue photography. Developing film myself, making prints in my own little darkroom and teaching myself so much – these experiences have had a lasting impact on my perspective on photography.

For several years, I was a member of the Lauterbach Photography Club and also took part in projects and group exhibitions organised by the Schwarz/Weiss – Arbeitsgemeinschaft Süd, including ‘Entdeckungen der Schattensucher’ in Landau (2013). I was also involved in the photographic project ‘Stille Post der Bilder’. In addition, my photographs have been published in various projects and publications.

Over the years, I have received awards in national and international photography competitions. These include first place in the CEWE ‘Holiday Vibes 2023’ photography competition, as well as honourable mentions at the Fine Art Photography Awards 2023/2024 and the Mono Visions Photography Awards 2024 for my experimental series ‘A Look into the Past’

Today, my photographic focus remains on nature, light and the quiet moments in between. As well as on my own website, my work is showcased on international platforms and is now featured in various exhibitions.

The journey continues – after all, the camera never stands still either.
